Moo Tod Kratiem (Deep-Fried Pork with Garlic and Pepper)

Deep-Fried Pork is a favorite dish among Thais, especially children, because it is tasty and easy to cook. The dish is served by itself or as a side dish for a spicy curry.


Nutrition

Pork is high in fat, protein, iron and phosphorus. Garlic reduces blood cholesterol. To get more nutrients, it is recommended to serve the dish with cooked rice and vegetables.

Ingredient

250 grams pork loin
1 tbsp. light soy sauce
3 grams garlic
4 grams coriander roots
½ tsp. ground pepper
1 cup vegetable oil for frying
16 grams chopped garlic that has been fried until crisp


How-to

1. Warm the oil in a pan over low heat. Fry the garlic until light brown and drain well. Set aside to cool.
2. Cut the pork into one-centimeter thick slices
3. Pound the coriander roots, ground pepper and garlic. Add the light soy sauce. Marinate the pork in the mixture for 15 minutes.
4. Fry the pork in hot oil until they’re cooked, and set aside.
5. Slice the cooked pork into bite-size piece. Serve on a plate, garnish with the crisp garlic.
