Pad Preaw Wan Moo (Sweet and Sour Pork)

Sweet and Sour Pork is influenced by China and Western Europe, but its taste is adapted to Thai tastes. The dish is popular in Thailand and the pork can be replaced by prawns, fish or beef.

The dish is full of vegetables and meat, meaning it contains protein, vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, beta carotene and flavonoid, which provides an antioxidant.

Ingredient

150 grams pork, cut into small chunks
50 grams diced cucumber
30 grams diced tomatoes,
40 grams diced pineapple
30 grams diced onion
10 grams spring onion, cut into inch-long piece
10 grams chopped garlic
¼ cup stock
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tbsp. fish sauce
½ tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. tomato ketchup


How-to

1. Fry the pork briefly and set aside.
2. Fry the pineapple, cucumber, tomato and onion and set aside.
3. Mix the seasoning well: the tomato ketchup, sugar, fish sauce and stock.
4. Heat the oil, fry the garlic until it becomes aromatic. Add the vegetables, pork, and stir-fry briefly. Add the seasoning and then add half of the spring onions and stir briefly.
5. Serve on a plate. Garnish with the rest of the spring onions.

Tips
Stir-fry the vegetables only briefly to maintain their crispiness.
