Gaeng Phak Wan Pla Yang (Vegetable Curry with Grilled Fish)

Phak wan curry is a seasonal dish. It is a delicious dish especially when the grilled fish is added. Taste becomes unique and aromatic.


Nutrition

Phak wan is full of protein, vitamin C, beta carotene which is good for eyesight and provides antioxidants. Calcium and phosphorus in phak wan maintains bones and teeth. Dietary fiber in phak wan is good for the excretory system. Only cooked phak wan is recommended.

Ingredient

100 gram phak-wan (local vegetable-Melientha suavis)
50 grams glass noodles
50 grams grilled fish
1 ½ cups water

Ingredients for curry paste
5 each chee-fah chiles, dried
5 each garlic cloves
5 each red shallots
1 tsp. shrimp paste
1 tsp. salt


How-to

1. Pound all of ingredients for curry paste, until well blended.
2. Boil the water in a pot over medium heat, add the paste mixture, and stir until dissolved.
3. Add the grilled fish, simmer until it becomes tender.
4. Add the phak wan, and let it cook.
5. Add the glass noodles, stir until well mixed. Removed from the heat. Serve in a bowl.
